Vehicle Parts and Service Consumer Choice Coalition

Vehicle Parts and Service Consumer Choice Coalition
(headed by Plotkin Zins & Associates)

Please help your industry and your business by joining this coalition and encourage your colleagues and customers to do the same. To be prepared for the 2012 policy session we need to organize NOW by spreading the word. Please take a few moments and fill out the sign-up form and fax or email it to the address on the form. Your participation is vital so that we can show to our industry how many of us are being negatively. Your information will be used to help us keep you informed of developments related to the TRP parts policy in place by Mercedes and similar trends by other auto manufacturers.

As many of you are aware I have been heavily involved with the Mercedes TRP parts issue as well as similar issues having the same negative effect on all of our businesses. In order for us to have our concerns addressed and possibly help level the playing field between dealer and aftermarket business it has become apparent that we need to better organize as a group so that we can collectively work for change. In order to do this it was decided at AAPEX last November that it would be in our best interests to form a coalition so that we can speak with a common voice. There is enough interest and perhaps resources in our group to at least plant the seeds of a unified effort to bring this issue to a broader retail audience and hopefully by doing so put pressure on the manufacturers of vehicles and parts to stem this expanding trend of locking us out. Without retail pressures there is little hope of getting change. Most importantly at this time we need to show our concerns and become more vocal publically. Best way to do this is through signing up with this coalition.

For those of you who were able to attend the discussion at AAPEX in November thank you very much for your interest in the theft related parts issue. Please know that I am committed to this issue and am working hard through Beckmann Technologies and BlueLink to help all of us. Your commitment to these two companies will also help support our efforts. I wish to personally thank all of our customers for allowing us to do this important work. Please use the sign up form and mail, fax or email to Plotkin Zins & Associates today. Please pass along to your customers, colleagues and other interested stakeholders.
